Hello

The Autumn Markets - what an event!  We learnt a lot and grateful for the friendly advice and enthusiastic feedback. The next Lyrebird Local Market is already being planned for Spring.  For all those who participated in the survey thank you for your time, this information has helped us shape the Spring market event. We will continue to engage with local community groups and expand our music, entertainment and 'family fun' programs.  We appreciate the work of the bushfire preparedness committees and community service groups and look forward to their continued support.  Thank you to our extremely talented stallholders  we were nothing but impressed by your professionalism and commitment to what you do. And most of all we appreciate you, our community it was mind-blowing to see so many of you turn out on the day.  We have a beautiful spot in this part of the world and we will continue to work hard to keep it that way.  The Autumn market was organised by a small group of volunteers and we need more help. If anyone is interested in joining us please drop us a note.  It’s a great way to connect with your community, yes it's was a lot of work but so satisfying.

We look forward to hearing from you

Our Story

ABCD Inc is a community-based association dedicated to promoting the wellbeing and resilience across the three villages of Bell, Clarence and Dargan. The association was formed following the devastating Black Summer Fires of December 2019.  From the very first meetings our communities asked for local market events in the area. It was important to  be able to buy locally, to have fresh produce available on our doorstep (saving travel time and costs). It was hoped gathering local makers and producers would attract visitors and develop a cohesive community.  Our first market was held Saturday, April 22, 2023 we welcomed tourists and just as importantly it brought neighbours together in a landscape and community that has been severely impacted not only by the 2019 bushfires but subsequent severe storms, and covid-19 pandemic. Future  markets will provide our communities with regular recovery and preparedness activity which is so important for future disaster risk reduction and mitigation. We have one market under our belt and already planning our next market in Spring.  Please stay tuned ...

If you didn't get a chance to have your say please send us a message anytime.

An Autumn Market Survey was carried out by Sydney University. We received over 58% participation which is unheard of when asking for feedback, so thank you so much for your time. The feedback was collated by the team at Sydney University, the results were extremely positive and all comments have been taken on board to shape our Spring Market.

Thank you again for your amazing support.
